The Rotary Club of Broomfield is proud to host the 20th annual golf tournament to benefit the Broomfield Rotary Foundation's Police and Fire Fund. This fund provides financial assistance to police officers and firefighters who are injured or lost in the line of duty.
Founded by First Responders For First Responders
As a longtime Broomfield Rotary member, Police Chief Tom Deland was instrumental in starting the Broomfield Police and Fire Fund, along with Fire Chief John O’Hayre and Rotarian John Abboud. This tournament honors and serves our first responders and serves as a legacy to Chief Deland’s service and stewardship to our community.
The Police and Fire Fund is just one example of Broomfield Rotary's support for People of Action; and we are having fun while giving back to the community. Over the last 3 years our club has given $243,440 to local nonprofits such as SRB (Senior Resources of Broomfield), A Precious Child, Bal Swan, CASA, , Broomfield FISH, Healthy Learning Paths, Broomfield Veterans Museum, Wounded Warrior Project, Global Hope, Colorado Conservatory of Dance and many local individuals who needed a little help and love. Join us for the premiere broadcast of the Rotary People of Action Champions of Inclusion gala on Saturday, 10 June 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Chicago time (UTC-5) featuring the inspiring stories of our six honorees and other Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) thought leaders. They’ll tell what’s possible when People of Action come together to amplify the power of marginalized populations in our clubs, in our communities, and around the world. Click for More Information
On Thursday we received a presentation about two local non-profits from local historian Fred Martin. Fred presented on the Commemorative Air Force Wing located in Broomfield and our Veterans Museum. The presentation included videos and still shots of the activities planned for this summer. The connections to Colorado veterans sparked many comments from the attendees.
