Tragic loss of fellow rotarian jerry miller

On Thursday, we mourned the passing of another cherished friend and fellow Rotarian, Jerry Miller. May he rest in peace.

Brandon Baily

Upon learning of Jerry’s passing on Wednesday evening, Brandon swiftly arranged a flight from his California home to Denver. Thankfully, he managed to join our meeting on Thursday, where he recounted cherished memories of his upbringing by his grandparents, Jerry and Lynne Miller. In one amusing anecdote, he described being confined in a jail cell at Jerry’s former station house for helping himself to grapes while they shopped together at a grocery store; he was only 5 at the time.

Sisters in Spirit

Dotti Moyer presented the Rotary Club with an extensive history of the women’s suffrage movement in the United States. This movement was dedicated to granting women the right to vote, and it took activists and reformers nearly 100 years to achieve their goal. During her speech, Dotti drew a comparison between the lives of American settlers and the Saunee nation, where women enjoyed the same rights as men. Despite facing internal disagreements and challenges, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was finally ratified on August 18, 1920, granting all American women the right to vote.
