Thursday night (July 20th), we had the pleasure of welcoming the cub scout pack that we sponsor (pack 545) to our meeting. Their cubmaster Dave Lockley, committee chair Mary Hoyland, and Dave’s daughter,Anabella, gave us an informative presentation of all the fun and educational activities the scouts have been doing this summer. They also shared their latest newsletter, which invites everyone to Join Night for the 2023-2024 scouting year. Join Night is a great opportunity for girls and boys ages 5-10 to learn more about scouting and sign up for the program. It will take place on August 23, at 6:30 p.m., at 1235 W. 124th Place, Westminster.
We also learned about a remarkable story of a WWII veteran who survived captivity by the Japanese. His captor, who had been a Cub Scout in his youth, spared the soldier’s life when he noticed that he was guarding a fellow Cub Scout.

The Scouts concluded the evening with a generous donation of $1,139.94 to the Broomfield Rotary Charitable Foundation, expressing their gratitude for our ongoing support of Cub Scout Pack 545.
