Broomfiled Rotary Police and Fire Golf Tournament
Broomfield Evening Rotary Club members , Mayor Pat Quinn, and the Broomfield Police and North Metro Fire personnel extend their thanks to contributing sponsors, donors, and participants for their generous support of the ninth annual Broomfield Rotary Frank Varra Police and Firefighters Benefit Golf Tournament held at the Broadlands Golf Course on May 21, 2012.
Named in memory of Frank Varra, a local rancher and a generous contributor to community charities and devoted friend of the Police and Fire department personnel, this tournament raises money to support a fund that assists the families of police and firefighters injured or lost in the line of duty. This year $19, 0000.00 plus was the net income from the tournament, and a substantial portion will be added to the fund. Since its inception, the tournament has been a sellout event thanks to generosity of local businesses and the enthusiastic support of the participants.
There were 156 golfers and their friends present to enjoy the beautiful day, a great game, food, fellowship, and fun as they celebrated the tournament’s ninth year. Broomfield Evening Rotary, the Broomfield Police and Firefighters send their sincere thanks to our Broomfield neighbors. Broomfield truly is the hometown with a big heart.

Next year will mark the tenth anniversary of the tournament and the Broomfield Evening Rotary golf committee is now in the planning process. Early accounts indicate the 2013 golfing event will be a dynamite celebration.
