Benefit Raffle to Acquire Whitney Nelson's Service Dog

Whitney Nelson is a spunky 18 year-old suffering from debilitating seizures.  Her seizures came on when she was in 6th grade.  Numerous doctors and specialists have worked with the family over the past years, yet the exact cause of the seizures is still to be determined.

Whitney's seizures are unpredictable and uncontrollable; therefore, Whitney cannot be left alone.  Yet even in the face of multiple trips to the Mayo clinic, seemingly endless inconclusive blood work-ups, and on going IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) treatments, her spirit remains undaunted. Whitney beams with a self-assured smile and is quick with a compliment or a giggle.

As if the family hasn't endured enough; her mother Lisa, has recently been placed in hospice care due to her incredibly courageous battle with cancer.

Broomfield Rotary and North Metro Fire & Rescue are committed to help by purchasing a service dog for Whitney. Whitney's road to independence has been a long one and now it's our turn to step up and help her.  Along the way, you have a chance to support our fundraising effort by purchasing a raffle ticket.  Tickets purchased will be entered into a raffle drawing for your chance to win a brand new 2013 Chevrolet Camero LT Coupe (or $20,000 cash), a getaway package at the Omni Interlocken Hotel and additional cash prizes.

DRAWING

The drawing will be held in Century Chevrolet's Showroom on Wednesday, May 15th at 6pm.  Refreshments will be served between 5pm and 7pm.

PROCEEDS

All proceeds will go toward funding a service dog for Whitney Nelson.
