ABOUT US

The Broomfield Rotary Club was chartered by Rotary International in 1958. At that time, there were twenty-six charter members actively involved, including individuals like John W. Berg, Dale N. Bridgewater, John J. Brosius, George A. Cathy, Theodore F. Damme, Harold D. Ferguson, Charles K. Gibson, Josef C. Hallback, Earnest McCulluch, Don Milliman, Louis A. Miller, Albert E. Morr, James O. Mullen, Leon Rasmussen, Kenneth A. Pearson, Jerry Russell, Marvin G. Schnell, Donald Schray, Gene L. Shaw, John R. Shaw, Joseph R. Sullivan, Merle Swank, Victor C. Thomas, James R. Van Buskirk, William M. Wilson, and Raymond T. Yosten.

Today, our club maintains an active membership of 55 men and women who are wholeheartedly committed to both local and international service projects. These initiatives include supporting our local food bank, FISH, and sponsoring the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, where we strive to provide free books to all children in Broomfield under the age 5. Additionally, we established the Police and Fire Fund, which offers financial assistance to police officers and firefighters who are injured or lost in the line of duty.

Education and youth development are among our primary areas of focus. In addition to the Imagination Library, we also make contributions to organizations such as Bal Swan’s Children Center, Healthy Learning Paths, the Cub Scouts, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and the Rotary Youth Exchange program.

Broomfield Rotary takes immense pride in being a part of Rotary International, a global organization comprising business and professional leaders. Our shared mission is to provide humanitarian service, uphold high ethical standards across all vocations, and actively contribute to building goodwill and peace worldwide. With approximately 1.2 million Rotarians spread across 32,000 clubs in 208 countries and geographical areas, our impact is far-reaching.

The core objective of Rotary International is to serve communities, workplaces, and the world at large. Our commitment extends to addressing critical issues such as at-risk children, poverty, hunger, environmental concerns, illiteracy, and violence. We also support programs for youth, educational opportunities, and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals. Our guiding motto remains: Service Above Self.
