Arrows of Light

By Gerry Case:

On Wednesday we celebrated the accomplishments of the Pack's 5th graders as they earned the highest rank in Cub Scouts, the Arrow of Light! Even though their time as a Cub Scout came to a close, many had decided to continue their Scouting journey by joining a local Scouts BSA Troop. Representatives of those Troops were there to welcome these newly minted Arrow of Light recipients in a special Crossover Ceremony, which was facilitated by a Scouting adult who was dressed as a Scout Guide and who personified the importance of the moment through stories and advice to the Scouts."

First Thursday

By Linda Kennedy

Many thanks to everyone who attended the First Thursday dessert party at our home last night. It was wonderful to spend time and get to know some of you better.  I had no idea there are beekeepers and former CIA operatives amongst you!  And I greatly appreciated your generosity in participating in the raffle which raised $300 and another $300. from the silent auction.  Together that supports about 48* children for a year in Imagination library.    That is four dozen kids who will have books delivered directly to their houses because of you!!   Thank you so much. *
(The cost per student is $25.00.  The state pays $12.50, and we pay $12.50)

Update on the Corvette Raffle:

Current Donations Made as of March 9:   $96,850.

Update on the Imagination Library:

I want to share some of the feedback we have received from the Broomfield Community thanking us for our support of the Imagination Library:  As you read through these comments think about the positive impact our association with the Imagination Library is having for both our community and for our club.

This is an amazing program for ALL children under 5. We are avid readers and found so many great new-to-us books through the program! For those ages, receiving something in the mail is a big deal. There were real tears when the final book arrived!!
  • Lauren Mundt
My youngest loves getting her "Dolly book" every month!!
  • Kate Neary
We love our books every month! It’s the best program!

Enrolement

Currently we have 321 Active Children enrolled in the Imagination Library.

We have had 18 children graduate.

But in case you are wondering what the Satellite Club has been doing, we have enrolled 35 additional students this week. It usually takes about 60 to 90 days for these newly enrolled students to become active.
