During Thursday's club meeting we enjoyed a presentation by Richelle Force, the author of a book about a pioneering Ester Park photographer, Fred Payne Clatworthy, whose work was featured in National Geographic in the early 1900s. Upon meeting the photographer’s daughter, she discovered what she calls “a book waiting to be written”. Richelle is a former newspaper reporter, editor, college English instructor, and volunteer reading tutor. She and her husband, Dave live in a retirement community in Westminster, where she writes for the monthly newspaper and provides music for Sunday evening Vespers services.

Hi fellow, Rotary members. I am sending a quick reminder and follow up request for donation items for our silent auction.
As you all know this will be the inaugural year for the silent auction that will be associated with the Broomfield, rotary police and fire golf tournament.
We are hoping to raise a huge amount of money to support our police and fire partners, along with funds to help support the missions of our club.
I am again reaching out to our club members to see if people have secondary or vacation properties, especially in the Colorado mountains, Arizona or California that they would be willing to donate for 3 to 5 days of use. Several of you had mentioned to me in passing that this may be a possibility, but this is the point where I am needing a firmer commitment. After we have secured lodging am hoping to contact local golf courses around those areas and see if they will donate a couple of rounds of golf to create a golf vacation package that will be popular with potential bidders.
Other items that are typically very popular at silent options include sports memorabilia, and tickets to local professional sporting events. If you, your family, or friends have any connections for tickets to any of our local teams your help would be greatly appreciated.

I am hoping to have donation commitments on all of the vacation properties by the end of April and have most of the rest of the donation items finalized by the end of May so that we can start marketing our auction. Thank you in advance for your help with this!
