President's Message
February was another busy month for the Club. Marilyn Osbourn did her usual magic and arranged for a wonderful Valentine's Day party at Legacy Ridge. Flowers and candy were provided to all of the spouses and the food was excellent, thank you Marilyn. Also in February was the annual Flower Power program which was again wonderfully managed by Gerry Case and Jerry Miller. A special thanks to John O'Hayre for again providing the truck to haul the flowers and a big thank you to all the other Rotarians who participated in the project.
Both of these programs will be featured on Our Display at District Conference at the Marriott Resort at Vail
Also in February, we established an exploratory committee to evaluate the feasibility of operating a monthly Texas Holdem fun raiser. The concept being that each month we would sponsor a needy organization in the Broomfield Community similarly to what we are currently doing with our annual Police and Fire Golf Tournament. The program would require Rotarians to oversee the monthly operation but we would also draw resources from the organization being sponsored. We will be discussing the Committee's progress at our weekly meetings.
Spring Clean-Up days are getting closer. Please mark your calendars, April 26, May 3 & May 10. Remind your friends and neighbors to save the good stuff (TV's, Furniture, Clothes, etc.) for curbside pickup on the day assigned for their neighborhood. There will be several full page ads in the
The Broomfield Rotary Charitable Foundation this past month awarded $7,000 to the Broomfield Community Foundation and $2,100 in matching contributions to Rotary International.
