The Broomfield Rotary Club helped to place more than 100 wreaths on the graves of veterans.

There are many things about Joseph Mazzola that Bill Tecklenburg recalls. He said that his father-in-law came into his life at just the right time, that he was a second father figure to him and that he offered guidance and a great sense of humor.

“He was just a loving man,” Tecklenburg said.

On Saturday, Tecklenburg, his daughter and Mazzola’s son, Joseph David Mazzola, paid their respects – as other families did with their respected loved ones – at the annual Wreaths Across America event at Broomfield County Commons Cemetery.

The nationwide event pays tribute to departed veterans as part of the holiday season.
